3. I have a budget but I cannot search with certain price range because I don’t know the shipping cost.

 Don’t worry. If you submit the free quote request form, we will search the boats that fit your budget, including full consideration of shipping and miscellaneous cost.

4. I cannot find a boat that I am looking for on the boat searching websites.

 If the boat you are looking for is very rare, you might have a hard time finding it on the boat searching websites. We have an internal network with brokers and searching contact so please, let us know what you are looking for.

5. What size of boat do you provide your service for?

There is no limit on the size of the boat that we provide our service. Even though you are looking for a smaller or an older boat, we do our best to help you purchase the boat.

– Fact Check –

1. What do you do for the fact check?

 We collect more information from the seller (or broker), visit the boat, and check the entire boat visually. If the seller or broker agrees, we test run the boat. After the fact check, we send you a detailed report with lots of photos and videos. We try to collect objective facts at this stage and give you a better idea on the condition of the boat.

2. Do I need to contact seller or broker?

 You can do that but we do it for you. A lot of clients don’t want to contact the broker themselves because brokers tend to contact you constantly to sell the boat. We protect your privacy so the seller and broker don’t know who you are until you actually purchase the boat.

3. Should I follow you when you go to see the boat?

 Not necessary but it would be better if you join to fact check or survey so you understand the condition of the boat. If you cannot visit U.S.A. for the boat, no problems; we will do the job for you and let you know the exact condition of the boat. That is our job!

4. Why don’t you do a detailed survey during the fact check visit?

 We can do detailed survey for the first visit but we want to check the fundamental condition of the boat and then determine if you really want to look at the detail. Some of sellers or brokers don’t allow the survey until they get a preliminary offer or purchasing agreement.

5. How much do you charge for fact check?

 We do not charge for fact check of the first boat if it’s located in Florida. We travel anywhere in Florida, take a look at the boat, and send you information for the first boat. If the boat is located in out of Florida, we charge labor cost and travel expenses. Labor cost is $200/day and travel expenses include transportation and hotel.

– Survey –

1. Why do we need a survey?

 Survey is the best method through which we can understand true condition of the boat. Surveyors are an independent party, so they inspect the boat objectively. They don’t work for seller or buyer. Their job is evaluating the boat as it is and providing an honest opinion.
 Survey report is also used as a tool for negotiation. If survey result is great, it’s good for you and seller because we are dealing with a good boat. If survey report indicates some issues on the boat, that can give you a good opportunity to negotiate the price with the seller.

2. I don’t need a full survey. Can I specify survey items?

 Yes, you can ask to survey what you want us to check. Of course, survey cost will be reduced but saving a couple hundred bucks from survey is not a good idea because this is the first and only chance you’ll have to find the true condition of the boat.

3. Why don’t you survey the boat yourself?

 USA Yacht Export agents can conduct fundamental survey but we try to stay neutral on the survey as sellers tend to agree more with what independent surveyor finds.

4. Can you guarantee the survey is accurate?

 The surveyors we hire have tremendous years of experience and knowledge, so they provide the best survey in the industry. We are very sure we will receive accurate survey job. However, surveyors are also human; they can miss some issues that are hidden so they couldn’t find it easily.

5. What if we find a problem after purchasing the boat?

When you purchase a used boat, you should acknowledge that there could be a chance of a potential issue. However, if you purchase a boat with USA Yacht Export, you can drop the chance dramatically.

– Negotiation & Paperwork –

1. How much price can we drop from the negotiation?

 We cannot guarantee how much price we can negotiate. There are a lot of factors involved in the negotiation, such as boat condition, the market condition of the boat, seller’s motivation, buyer’s approaching mindset, and many different conditions associated with purchasing.

2. What if I don’t like the final price or the deal from the negotiation?

 No pressure at all. If you don’t like the final price or the deal, you can simply walk away and move to another candidate’s boat or just wait until you find a boat you are looking for. This is your advantage as a buyer.
 We do not charge you any service fee until you actually purchase a boat, so you’ve got nothing to lose.

Yes. We hire customs agent in your country. We work with them for the customs documents and procedure of customs at the destination.

5. How can you guarantee all the funding and wire transfer are safe?

 Most of the boats on major boat search websites are registered by certified brokers. Boat brokers in U.S.A. are certified and licensed so they are very trustable. We always work with seller’s broker so the broker holds the fund until we completely sign on the Bill of sales. We also verify their background if the sellers are individual.

6. Do we need to send you the all the fund for the boat and related cost?

 We, USA Yacht Export, only accept our service fees including negotiation incentive fee. You need to directly wire-transfer boat price, shipping and extra cost to the related parties. We do so in this manner because we think this provides transparency on our work and quote even though you have a little bit of more work to wire the money.
