Shipping & Delivery

Shipping & Logistics

Shipping is the most difficult and time-consuming job in boat purchasing. Shipping method, date, and cost should be planned at the very beginning of the purchasing process because it takes a long time to arrange appropriate shipping for best date and cost.
The first thing we have to determine is a shipping method. Based on the size of the shipment, we can determine which shipping method is appropriate and economical.
At USA Yacht Export, we have our internal shipping network, so we are confident that we can find you the best price and date for your boat.

Cargo Insurance

We will find best cargo insurance rate for you from our exclusive network. Our cargo insurance will cover All Risk (Full Cover). This cover is against ANY damage (total or partial) from physical external cause including shortage, theft, and catastrophe from any external cause breakage, fire, water, or impact.
Please contact us for detailed terms and conditions of the cargo insurance.

Shipping Method

Enclosed Container

20 ft and 40 ft enclosed containers are used for small sail or power boat. This is the cheapest method than any other. We will carefully secure the boat and make sure it doesn’t move or get damaged. See container dimension sheet for details.

Flat Rack Container

20 ft and 40 ft flat rack containers are used for taller and wider boats than a standard container. There is still height and width limit. Cradle is recommended but if you need a trailer, we will secure it with the boat and make it fit into the flat rack.

Ro-Ro Ship

Ro-Ro (Roll-on/Roll-off) ships are designed to carry wheeled cargo, so it requires a trailer. It has a limit on height because the ship has an entrance gate to load the boat. Ro-Ro is used when the boat with a trailer is longer than 40 ft.

Lo-Lo Ship

Lo-Lo (Lift-on/Lift-off) ships usually have on-board cranes to load and unload cargo. Its height and size limit is better than Ro-Ro ship, so it’s used for a bigger yacht. An alternative is the Float-on/Float-off ship which doesn’t have any limit on size and weight.

Ground Transport & Delivery

The boat needs to be moved from its origin location to the shipping port. We hire a local professional boat transporter who uses their own trailer or low loader which is safer for ground transport.
We also hire a local transporter in your country to move the boat from the arriving port to your home or marina. We provide them detailed information and paperwork for the boat so they can properly handle the boat from the port and deliver to you.

Local Service Partner

One of our goals is to provide you full service with the best quality so you don’t need to spend your valuable time on boat purchasing. We want you to focus on enjoying the boat.
In order to do that, we appoint partnership with local marina or service yard to provide you local service when the boat has arrived. We will work with them to deliver and set up the boat. We will also make sure they provide you instruction on how to use the boat properly. We will deliver and share all the information and paperwork with them so they can work as USA Yacht Export’s local partner. If you have any questions, you can directly talk to them personally, they will contact and work with us to resolve your request.
If you become our client once, will make you a lifetime VIP client.

Customs duty and Taxes

Each country has different customs duty and tax policy. We will hire your local Customs Agent to manage the customs duty and taxes. We will provide all the information and paperwork to the customs agent so they can proceed the customs process smoothly. Please contact us for details of the customs duty and taxes.
