A lot of used boats get poured into used market after fall around October. Most of boat sellers are trying to get rid of their boat before winter. When the time gets closer to end of December, buyers get on better position for negotiation of boat price. The book value of the boat will be dropped when January arrives and the boat gets one year older. So most of boat sellers get really motivated to sell their boats even though they have to scarify on the price of the boat.

Most of American start boat shopping around March or April. If you want to buy a boat in that time, competition is pretty high so you will have less chance to find good boats and you will not get any benefit on price negotiation.
If you want to enjoy boating and fishing with your new boat around April when spring time arrives, you should start shopping right now. Import process and shipping will take 2 or 3 months and you also have to service the boat. If you start it now, you will be able to use your new boat in April.
The quote of “The early bird gets the worm” applies to boat shopping as well. If you were thinking about buying a boat, do not delay or push it back. This is the best time!
